Standard vs. Deep Cleaning: Which One Should You Book?
By Sparkling House Cleaning Services Cinco Ranch · Published
Book a standard clean when your home is already maintained and needs routine kitchen, bathroom, dusting and floor work. Book a deep clean when baseboards, door frames, vents, grout or kitchen grease have built up. Inside appliances and cabinets are add-ons unless you book an empty-home move-out clean.
What does a standard clean cover?
A standard visit handles the everyday rooms: kitchen counters, sink, stovetop and appliance fronts, full bathroom cleaning, dusting of reachable surfaces and every floor vacuumed and mopped. Beds get made and trash goes out. It is built to keep a home that is in decent shape looking good.
A standard clean can absolutely be your first visit. If the home has been cleaned by a professional recently, there is no reason to pay for detail work it does not need. What matters is the condition of the home, not how long you have lived there.
What extra work does a deep clean add?
A deep clean includes the full standard checklist and then goes after the spots that build up slowly. Baseboards are wiped by hand, along with doors, frames and switch plates. Vents, reachable fans, light fixtures, sills and tracks get detailed, and the team spends extra time on kitchen grease and shower grout.
Newer homes in the Cinco Ranch area often hold leftover construction dust in vents and on cabinet tops, and a deep clean is the right tool for that. Heavy post-construction debris such as paint, mortar or adhesive is a separate job. Vent dusting covers the grille surface, not duct cleaning.
- Run a finger along a baseboard and check for a gray line.
- Look at the range hood and stovetop for sticky buildup.
- Check shower glass for cloudy film and grout for dark lines.
- Note which furniture can be moved and which should stay put.
What is left out of both?
Inside the fridge, oven and cabinets are add-ons on both standard and deep visits. Inside window glass and blinds need to be requested too. Carpet shampooing, upper-story exterior windows, pest droppings, biohazards and mold remediation fall outside the normal checklist.
Cleaning also has limits on surfaces that are already damaged. Etched stone, stained grout and worn finishes can look better without looking new. Point out delicate materials before the visit so the team uses the right products.
Which clean should come first?
Describe your kitchen and bathrooms when you call or text, and we will tell you which clean makes sense. Everyday dust and floors point to a standard clean. Grimy baseboards, cloudy glass and greasy cabinets point to a deep clean, often followed by recurring standard visits.
For an empty home between owners or tenants, look at our move-in and move-out clean instead. It adds the inside of cabinets, drawers, the fridge and the oven, which a deep clean leaves as optional. Our free checklist lets you compare all three side by side.
